Cosmetic Specialties International Announces Acquisition

Sustainable packaging is a specialty

Asparron Capital, LLC, a North Richland Hills, TX-based private investment firm, has acquired the jars and closures assets of Cosmetic Specialties, Inc. (CSI-Cosmolab), a leading plastic injection molding manufacturer for the cosmetics, skincare and personal care industry, and has formed a new company – Cosmetic Specialties International, LLC (CSI LLC). The announcement was made by Bruce Bellerose, executive VP/ chief operating officer of CSI LLC. The transaction formally separates CSI LLC from Cosmolab, which will continue to operate out of its Tennessee location.

“Asparron Capital is excited about the opportunity to work with current management to grow the jars and closure business,” said William J. Gedwed, chief executive officer for Asparron Capital, LLC. “The transaction, which was finalized on October 22, 2009, is the first step in moving Cosmetic Specialties International, LLC into the forefront of product development in areas including sustainable packaging along with tool design and development from an already robust in-house machine department.”

CSI LLC provides design, custom tooling and manufacture of precision injection molded jars, caps and closures made from virgin plastics and plant-based resins derived from natural tapioca, potatoes and corn sugar and materials otherwise destined for landfills. The company manufactures more than 200 million parts annually and is a key supplier to many of the largest global beauty brands. CSI LLC offers a full range of products and services including in-house mold design and development, silk screening, pad printing, hot stamping and label application, along with cap lining capabilities for a broad range of sizes and products.
